T2 Tennis – Denton Johnson Tennis Corp

Founded in November 2001 by Tina McCall-Waters, Denton Johnson Tennis Corporation (DJTC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to supporting youth through tennis.

DJTC is named in honor of Mr. Denton "Pop" Johnson, who started the tennis program in Eatonville. Tina McCall-Waters, one of his first students, was inspired by his mentorship and his request that each of his proteges give back to the community.

We invite you to connect with Eatonville, Florida’s historic non-profit organization. DJTC continues to give back to the community through the efforts of civic and community leaders who recognized the need for resources for at-risk youth. Our Mission

The primary mission of the Denton Johnson Tennis Corporation is to create a haven where kids can attend after school to access computers, mentors, and nutrition while learning tennis in a team format.

In the News

Over the years, DJTC has gained recognition for its impactful programs and community involvement. In 2009, the organization received the USTA Florida Member Organization of the Year award for its outstanding service to the community. The program not only focuses on tennis skills but also emphasizes academic achievement and life skills, ensuring a holistic approach to youth development.

DJTC has hosted numerous events and tournaments, providing children with opportunities to compete, learn, and grow. These events foster a sense of community and teamwork, reinforcing the values instilled by Mr. Denton "Pop" Johnson.

Join us in our mission to empower the youth of Eatonville and beyond through the transformative power of tennis and education.
